Join the Pack: Play Basketball with Belmont Saints

Are you looking for more than just a place to shoot hoops? Welcome to
Belmont Saints, a basketball club where “true growth is powered by hard work”.

Whether you are a parent looking for a supportive environment for your child, a school team wanting to stay together, or an adult player seeking a social league, we are the club for you. Based at the
Rowland Cowan Basketball Stadium in Carina, we are a 100% volunteer-run organisation dedicated to unlocking the athletic and personal potential of every player.

Why Choose Our Club?

We position ourselves differently from other clubs. We are an inclusive, community-driven organisation that prioritises player and coach development over a “cookie-cutter” approach. When you join us, you aren’t just a number on a roster; you are part of a tenacious community built on camaraderie and sportsmanship.

A Club for Every Level

We manage teams ranging from:

  • Junior Entry-Level: Under 8s (mixed teams).
  • Junior Competitive: Under 20s (boys and girls).
  • Adult Competitions: Men’s and Ladies’ leagues, including Vets.

Our pathways cater to beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, offering routes to regional, state, and national selection.

The Wolfpack Initiative: Keep Your School Team Together

One of the most unique aspects of our club is Wolfpack Basketball.

Many junior players want to transition from school basketball to club basketball, but they are afraid of being split up from their friends. We solved this. The Wolfpack initiative is a sister brand designed specifically for school teams participating in Junior Club Basketball Competitions.

How it Works

  • Bring Your Team: This allows school-based teams to enter the competition together.
  • Manage the Waitlist: Helps us manage waitlists and reduces overcrowding on the main Belmont Saints roster, ensuring everyone gets game time.
  • Same Competition: You play in the same SDBAL association games while keeping your school “pack” together.

Adult Teams: Membership Made Simple

We believe that playing club basketball should be accessible and stress-free. That is why we have scrapped the old-fashioned “cash on the night” system.

The "Gym Membership" Model

For our adult players, we use a direct debit model—similar to a gym membership—costing approximately $16.00 per week. This single subscription covers:
  • Nomination fees
  • Forfeit fees
  • Weekly game fees
You never have to worry about carrying change or chasing teammates for money. You just turn up and play. Join our community.

Professional Partnerships & Coaching

Joining a club means access to better resources. We are proud to be the inaugural “Community Club Partner” of the Brisbane Bullets.

What This Means for You

  • Better Coaching: Our coaches have exclusive access to accreditation, clinics, and support from the Bullets’ game development staff.
  • Consistent Support: Unlike many clubs, we aim to have the same coach run both weekly training sessions and game-day coaching, building trust and consistency.
  • Safety: We are a family-focused club where safety is mandatory, and all coaches hold valid Blue Cards.

Junior Programs: Building Character

We don’t just teach dribbling and shooting. We emphasize providing a supportive environment where character, teamwork, and sportsmanship are instilled alongside athletic skills.

Our junior programs (U8–U20) are designed to:

  • Build confidence in young players
  • Provide a fun, safe physical outlet
  • Teach the value of hard work and “unlocking your potential”

Merchandise and Gear

Look the part every time you step onto the court. Through our official apparel partners, New Balance and Veto Sports, Belmont Saints players and coaches have access to high-quality, personalised playing uniforms and club apparel designed to create a strong sense of pride and belonging.

Whether you’re representing the Saints or our WolfPack program, wearing the club colours is more than just putting on a uniform—it’s a symbol of being part of a supportive community that values teamwork, respect and club spirit. From your first game to your hundredth, you’ll wear the Belmont Saints colours with pride.

Volunteer With Us

We are a not-for-profit organisation that operates entirely on volunteer support. This means our fees go back into the club, not into profits.

We offer structured development for our volunteers, ranging from Level 0 (Community Coach) to Level 4 (Master Coach). If you are a parent or an aspiring coach, we can help you gain professional accreditation and mentorship.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to play senior basketball?

We use a modern subscription model similar to a gym membership. For adult players, the cost is approximately $14.90 per week via direct debit. This all-inclusive fee covers your nomination, forfeit fees, and weekly game fees, so you never have to bring cash to the court.

Wolfpack Basketball is our sister initiative designed for school teams. It allows groups of school friends to enter the Junior Club Basketball Competition together as a pre-formed team. It helps manage waitlists and ensures friends can stay together without overcrowding the main club roster.

Yes, players need a jersey to compete. We offer personalised jerseys for purchase ($45). Wearing the club colours is a great way to feel part of the community.

Belmont Saints is a 100% volunteer-run organisation. While we don’t force every parent to coach, we strongly encourage community involvement. If you are interested in coaching or managing, we offer support and accreditation pathways.
